Olivia LaGoy-Weltz

Olivia LaGoy-Weltz is an American FEI dressage rider and trainer, recognized for her success at the international Grand Prix level and her commitment to meticulous horse-and-rider development. Based at her own Mountain Crest Farm, she operates a dual-base program in Haymarket, Virginia, and Wellington, Florida.

Early Career and European Training

Olivia’s equestrian journey began at age five in the San Francisco Bay Area. After high school, she spent five years in Europe (Holland and Germany), where she gained extensive experience working at top sales and competition barns. She credits mentors such as Sandy Howard and Heidi Riddle for her foundational knowledge in rider biomechanics, and has more recently trained under U.S. Olympians Debbie McDonald, Robert Dover, and Lars Petersen.

Professional Coaching & Mentorship

Beyond her own competition record, Olivia is a dedicated educator. In 2025, she was appointed as a U.S. Dressage Assistant Pathway Coach, a role focused on identifying and developing future talent for the U.S. equestrian teams. At Mountain Crest Farm, she focuses on a holistic approach that balances technical riding skills with a deep attention to the horse's physical and mental well-being.
